The client is a leading producer of customized polymers for various industries with state-of-the-art plants and warehouses in India. They also produce laminating adhesives for flexible packaging.

Business Challenge

The client wanted to implement a cutting-edge Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to reduce order and manufacturing lead times and improve processes like procurement, inventory, sales, distribution, finance, costing, accounting, quality management, production operations, and reporting. They also wanted better visibility on their inventory in warehouses spread across various locations in India. The client recognized that to realize the massive expansion plans and the future roadmap, they must implement a robust, world class ERP.

The Solution

  • The Approach: We applied the Greenfield approach to implementing RISE with SAP S/4 HANA. We built a new ERP system from scratch tailored to the client’s needs.
  • Choosing the Right Modules: Our deep expertise in SAP and domain knowledge helped us choose process-centric modules, such as:
    • SAP FICO to streamline financial processes.
    • SAP MM to optimize procurement and inventory management.
    • SAP SD to enhance sales order processing, pricing, shipping, and customer service.
    • SAP PP to improve manufacturing processes, resource planning, and production scheduling.
    • SAP QM to implement quality control throughout the production cycle, including inspections and certifications.
    • SAP PM to maintain the plant, plan preventive maintenance, and track assets.
    • SAP DMS for document control, versioning, and retrieval within the ERP system.
    • COPA for detailed insights into the profitability of products, customers, and sales channels.
  • Data Democratization: We kept data at the heart of the client’s business transformation. We integrated COPA and Salesforce with the ERP system for seamless data flow. We also implemented Power BI for comprehensive reporting and data visualization to aid the client in making quick business decisions based on real-time data.
  • The Sapours Value-Add: We also offered value-add services like identifying, suggesting, and implementing process improvements and applied the best practices of SAP to help the client derive maximum benefits from the implementation.

Our 20-member implementation team completed the end-to-end implementation successfully in six months.

We also provided long-term, post-implementation support to help users adapt to the new ERP system and processes and troubleshoot the initial challenges they would face after implementation.
